Jacob Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Act
A "continuing resolution" has been passed to fund Javits for Fiscal Year 2009 at $7.5 million, the same level as the previous fiscal year. While the FY2009 funding will support the National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented and demonstration grants, it is not enough to fund statewide grants. Missouri Update: Rep. Sara Lampe recently filed a bill that would progress the state of gifted education in Missouri. Currently, gifted programming is not mandated. Source: News-Leader.com
