The "intent in this paper is to offer a personal perspective on the events that led to a major change in the college admissions test, known as the SAT. The new test will be in place for all students --nationwide--who must take the SAT as part of the admissions process for the college class entering in the fall of 2006. The Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program in Minnesota allows high school juniors and seniors to take courses, full- or part-time, at a post-secondary institutions for high school credit. PSEO provides students with a greater variety of class offerings and the opportunity to pursue more challenging coursework than may be available at their high schools.
