Both our children have grown up with these magazines. Our 11 year old enjoys "Muse" while our 5 year old learns a lot from "Click" and "Ask". All three are informative, lavishly illustrated, with gorgeous photos. Our 11 year old grew up on the literary magazines (Ladybug right up to Cricket) but we felt they had become superfluous as we use the public library a lot.

We have enjoyed these magazines. They are thoughtful, not garish, and free of advertising.

As much as we want to love these magazines, we just don't... We will check them out from the library if there is a specific topic that appeals, but strangely enough they often go unread. I love the fact that they are ad free and full of text, but they have yet to pique my 9 year-old, heavy-reader YS's interest. If they ever do, I will more than happily subscribe, but so far, using the library's copies have sufficed.

I like the Cobblestone and Odyssey magazines and check them out of the library frequently. They cover a wide range of history and science topics, respectively. Cobblestone Publishers know how to provide interesting and educational articles which make kids hungry for more.
