The web site is fun, but I think visiting the actual museums is much better. My favorite Smithsonian museums are the Natural History Museum and the American History Museum. The Air and Space Museum has an interesting new exhibit on the Wright Brothers. We have also found interesting exhibits in the Sackler Museum of Asian Art and in the Museum of African Art. These are all worth spending lots of time in, but make sure you have more than one day. Even then, you will be unable to see all of them.
