This non-profit group is the best place for parents/teachers/administrators to obtain information and access to leading journals, books and research concerning gifted children. They sponsor 3-4 evening meetings each year to provide adults with information for raising and/or teaching gifted children. They also sponsor Metro Council, a group for gifted education coordinators and teachers, to facilitate exchange of information among those working in the St. Louis area.

This organization now has a website at http://www.giftedsage.com. This site serves as a clearinghouse for parents, teachers, and anyone else who is interested in the education of gifted and talented children. SAGE sells books, kits, and other materials, geared towards the gifted child and gifted student, as well as parents and teachers of the gifted. SAGE is currently putting a list of the lending library resources on the website. The organization also plans to put all the book, kits, and materials which it sells online.

We have been a member of this organization for a few years. Unfortunately, the location and time of the meetings had never been convenient for us, so we have rarely attended, though some of them have looked interesting. If you live fairly close to where they have their meetings, it is an excellent resource, but they have been unwilling to move the meetings around to serve better the entire St. Louis community.

They have an excellent, if small, library of pertinent and sometimes difficult to find materials. Among other things, you can find some of Leta Hollingworth's work there.
