While this is not a book which speaks to profound giftedness, per se, I found this book helpful to me as a parent as I sought to identify and understand some of the issues we were grappling with- issues that seemed distinctly adolescent and yet precociously so. Gurian organizes male adolescence into three stages, with distinct developmental tasks and goals characterizing each stage. In part, this organization lent some context to our own asynchronous challenges, while providing some good information regarding this period of development.
