Description

The Logan School for Creative Learning is a private coeducational day school for children ages 5-15, located in Denver, Colorado. The Logan School provides a challenging environment that addresses the intellectual, emotional, and social needs of bright and imaginative children. The admissions office considers student test scores, student visit, teacher recommendation, and existing vacancy. Students are placed in 12 Core Classrooms which consist of children of varying ages. A child will usually spend 2 years with one teacher. The student has an individualized curriculum for his/her unique readiness level, learning style, and personal interests, and decisions are made each year about appropriate placement of students, depending upon their needs and progress. At the Logan School for Creative Learning there are no ceilings on a student's mathematical learning, and it employs two math/science specialists to teach upper level math. This school also has a variety of outside-the-classroom real-life learning situations and several summer programs.

Each student is able to choose and develop their own unit topic, an area of interest or a passion. The student works on the unit throughout the semester and will have an opportunity to go on unit field trips to gather information. The work is then displayed at Expo, a school wide celebration of learning. Logan has an experiential learning-based curriculum that services a wide variety of student needs.

What I like most about the Logan School are the "Matrix" classes. In the primary classrooms there are matrix classes throughout the year which include: Art, Music, Myg (gym spelled backwards), Theater, and Culture and Community. Matrix classes offer an opportunity to learn about each subject intensively for six weeks, three afternoons a week.

I spent 8 years of my life at Logan, and it has prepared me for college better than any other experience I have had, including my years in high school. It is about life long learning, not learning to pass the test, and it has been a driving force in my life - I still go back for all the shows!

The Logan School for Creative Learning has helped me in so many different ways. I have grown emotionally and mentally. I have been able to study more complex things than I could in a regular school environment. It is an excellent school.

A unique opportunity for any learner, The Logan School for Creative Learning is likely a place where you will wish you had gone. Each child learns a series of disciplines through their own interests.
