My daughter attended last summer. She is also a veteran of the John Hopkins summer camps and felt that Smith did a wonderful job with theirs. She adds that the small town atmosphere of Northampton meant that she and other students had a lot more freedom than at the Hopkins camps, and that just living in Northampton for a summer with other bright girls, with access to all those book stores, was an education in itself. She reported that the Smith faculty was especially close and nurturing to their students. In fact, my daughter added Smith to her short list of colleges she intends to send applications to. And -- Smith waives their application fee for all Summer Science and Engineering Camp graduates.
