The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science is a state supported public coeducational residential school for Mississippi residents in grades 11-12, located in Columbus, Mississippi. The school's curriculum is innovative and rigorous. While meeting the legislative mandate to emphasize the mathematics and sciences, there are also many opportunities for exploration of computer science, literature, social sciences, music, and the arts. With programs directed at development of body, mind, and spirit, MSMS is a community of scholars, where you will find students actively engaged in stimulating philosophical discussions, challenging academic programs, independent research projects, community service, and invigorating wellness and sporting activities.

MSMS is the nation's fourth state, public, residential high school for gifted and academically able eleventh and twelfth grade students. Funded by legislative appropriation, there are no charges for room, board, or tuition.

I am a student at MSMS (Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science) and I am proud to say that this is possibly the best thing that has happened to me. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to get more out of their school career.

MSMS was the best education I ever recieved. I not only learned vasts amounts of information from the books and great instructors, I also learned a great deal about life from those I resided with.

I'm a graduate of MSMS. Coming from another high school that did not seriously focus on education, I am deeply appreciative to be a graduate of MSMS. I recommend this school for EVERY gifted high school student that wants the best high school education in the state of Mississippi.

An Excellent Opportunity for any student who is ready, willing and able to live on their own, take on their own responsibilities and Graduate from high school. This school has given my child (Graduate 2007) the advancement she needed to get into a great college an move on with her career. I want to scream on the top of a mountain and recommend this school to any child who resides in the state of Mississippi. This opportunity will give you the necessary education to grow and become great leaders. Thank you to all the professors who taught my child and watched her walk across the stage on May 25th in Starkville, MS. The teachers ROCK!!!
