Talent Search Awards provide an opportunity for PG students to receive academic information, recognition, and advanced learning. This is an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about their abilities by taking a test that is designed for older students. Many PG students score in the 99% of tests for their own age/grade level, which is not very helpful in educational planning for this student. However, the talent search awards are a good opportunity for him/her to identify his/her real strengths and weakness relative to himself/herself, not relative to age/grade peers. These students need advanced academic opportunities. Not only do these these test scores qualify students for programs within the Talent Search organization, but they help parents advocate with schools and other organizations. Many areas (athletics, the arts, music etc.) offer awards ceremonies to recognize exceptional talent. The Talent Search Awards provide the same type of opportunity for intellectually gifted students.

I really appreciated the opportunity to take the ACT at an early age. This test allowed me to gain access to programs that only recognize the ACT and SAT tests. Scoring well on the ACT has opened many doors for me, but I never would have even had the opportunity to take the test were it not for the Midwest Talent Search. Being in the Search also allowed me to gain access to MTS programs.
