This is a great website that is very easy to navigate. It has good descriptions of matter, elements, and atoms, etc. There are also links to biology4kids,geography4kids, physics4kids, etc. It has great hyperlinks to word definitions making it interesting reading for scientific PG'ers.

This site appears to be targeted for middle school kids but the clear, concise language and crisp graphics would make it accessible to profoundly gifted children as young as 5 or 6.

I think this is a good site for any child who is interested in the basics of chemistry. It gives thorough and clear descriptions of science concepts - best for younger scientists. One downside is that it has moved its activities to a different site that requires one to pay a membership fee.
