Read an Article:

This section of GT-CyberSource (GT-CS) allows users to search for full text articles. Full text articles are the complete text of various articles which DITD has obtained the reprint rights to from print publications. Your queries will search records for book reviews, interviews, and articles from newspapers, journals, and magazines.
The GT-CS database can be queried in a number of ways. Begin your search by selecting ONE of the following options:

Title & Description: This field searches the title and description of the article

Author's LAST Name: This field searches for articles by the author's LAST name.

Full Text of Article: This field searches within the actual text of the article.

Full Title: This field requires users to enter the complete title in order to successfully locate their article of interest.

If applicable, correct punctuation is required for the Full Title field.
(For example when searching for the article Learn, Baby, Learn the commas are required to successfully locate the article.)
Browse By Topic: The Browse By Topic section allows users to search for a variety of articles by clicking on the various subcategories listed below the main categories. For example, if the user is searching for an article about underachievement they can start their search by finding the "Social/Emotional" category and selecting the "Underachievement" subcategory. Once the user selects "Underachievement" they will get a list of all of the articles that match their search.

Find a Resource:

This section of GT-CyberSource allows users to search for various resources. A resource is anything other than a full-text article. Examples of resources include: gifted and talented organizations, advocacy groups, curriculum guides, summer programs, museums, websites, schools, magazines, competitions, scholarships, enrichment programs, and links to articles listed on other websites.
Search by Keyword:
 Type a search term or combination of terms in the keyword search box and click the "Go" icon. For best search results, please use entire words.This section will only search by the title & description of the resource. See "Advanced Search" below for more search options.
Search Within Results:
After obtaining results from the original search, you have the option to search within the resources displayed using the Search Within Results search box. If you want to begin a new search, you must return to the original Keyword Search using the back button.
Browse By Topic: The Browse By Topic section allows users to search for a variety of resources by clicking on the various subcategories listed below the main categories. For example, if the user is searching for a resource that is related to learning disabilities they can start their search by finding the "Twice Exceptional" category and selecting the "Learning Disability" subcategory. Once the user selects "Learning Disability" they will get a list of all of the resources that match their search.
Top Searches:
 The Top Searches section lists the areas that are most frequently searched for by users. This section gives users a fast and easy way to find resources that are listed under the Top Searches categories. By clicking on one of the categories listed, the user will be able to view all of the resources that match their search. For example, if the user selects "Advocacy" from the Top Searches section they will be able to view all of the resources that relate to "Advocacy".

This section of GT-CyberSource allows users to expand or narrow their search using the provided fields as well as selecting "and" or "or" indicating that the keyword is mandatory or optional.
Advanced Search - Read an Article: Search using one or more of the following search boxes:

- Title & Description: This field searches the title and description of the article.
- Full Text of Article: This field searches within the actual text of the article.
- Author's Last Name: This field searches for articles by the author's LAST name.
- Additional Information: This field searches information such as the publisher and the publishing date.
In addition to the fields above, the user has the option to select "and" to require another field, or select "or" making the field optional for the search.
The user may further refine their search using the drop down boxes. The drop down boxes are necessary when searching within the section "Search Additional Information". However, if the user is unsure of what fields to choose from the drop down boxes, it is best to leave "All" as the selection.
Example: The user is trying to find the article: A place to start: Is my child gifted? by the Davidson Institute for Talent Development. There are several ways that the user could find this article using Advanced Search. Here is one way that the user could find the article in the Advanced Search section by filling in the search boxes as follows:
- Search Title & Description: start
- Search Full Text of Article: gifted
- Search Author's LAST Name: Davidson
- Search Additional Information: 2004 (or leave blank)
- Leave all of the "and" buttons selected
- Do not select anything from the drop down search boxes, leave "All" selected
- Click on the "Search" button at the bottom of the screen
- The user will now be able to see the title, average rating, and brief description of the article: A place to start: Is my child gifted?
- By clicking on the title of the article, the user will be able to view the full text of the article.
Advanced Search - Find a Resource: Search using both of the following search boxes:

- Title & Description: This field searches the title and description of the resource.
- Additional Information: This field searches information such as the web address, source information for the resource (Address, city, state, zip code, phone number), publisher and/or author's last name if the resource is a book, etc.
In addition to the fields above, the user has the option to select "and" to require another field, or select "or" making the field optional for the search.
The user may further refine their search using the drop down boxes. The drop down boxes are necessary when searching within the section "Search Additional Information". However, if the user is unsure of what fields to choose from the drop down boxes, it is best to leave "All" selected.
Example: The user is trying to find the resource: Iowa Acceleration Scale.There are several ways that the user could find this resource using Advanced Search. Here is one way that the user could find this resource in the Advanced Search section by filling in the search boxes as follows:
- Search Title & Description: Iowa
- Search Additional Information: Colangelo
- Leave the "and" button selected
- Do not select anything from the drop down search boxes, leave "All" selected
- Click on the "Search" button at the bottom of the screen
- The user will now be able to see the title, average rating, and a brief description of the resource: Iowa Acceleration Scale.
- By clicking on the title of the resource, the user will be able to view the entire resource.
